REBATTEX and WATTLOOP to Explore Collaboration on EV Battery Data, Diagnostics and Circular Market Infrastructure
REBATTEX and Belgian battery technology company Wattloop have signed a collaboration agreement to explore how battery diagnostics, State of Health assessment and battery data can be integrated with REBATTEX's market infrastructure for second-life EV batteries. The collaboration will evaluate opportunities across battery valuation, traceability, compliance, data exchange, reuse and repurposing, with the aim of supporting more transparent, trusted and efficient circular battery markets across Europe. The agreement establishes a framework for evaluating future cooperation but does not constitute a commercial partnership.
Agreement creates a framework for evaluating integration opportunities across battery diagnostics, valuation, traceability, reuse and repurposing REBATTEX, Europe’s exchange and compliance infrastructure for second-life EV batteries, and Wattloop, a Belgian battery technology company, have entered into a collaboration agreement to explore potential cooperation within the circular EV battery economy. The agreement establishes a framework for the parties to exchange information and assess possible collaboration relating to battery diagnostics, State of Health assessment, valuation, traceability,
data exchange, marketplace integration, regulatory compliance, reuse and repurposing. The collaboration will focus on how battery data and technical assessment capabilities could be connected with REBATTEX’s transaction and compliance infrastructure to support more transparent, trusted and efficient circular battery flows across Europe. Reliable battery diagnostics and structured data are increasingly important as growing volumes of batteries leave electric vehicles following accidents, repairs and dismantling. To enable these batteries to remain in productive use, market participants need
credible information about battery condition, identity, intended use and residual value. “Europe’s circular battery market cannot scale without trusted data,” said Andy Rietschel, CEO of REBATTEX. “By exploring how Wattloop’s battery expertise could complement REBATTEX’s market, traceability and compliance infrastructure, we aim to assess practical solutions that make second-life battery transactions safer, more transparent and more commercially viable.” Potential areas of collaboration include technical and commercial integrations, common workflows, battery valuation methodologies and new
services supporting dismantlers, workshops, insurers, refurbishers and energy-storage operators. “Battery data must be transformed into practical decisions and trusted commercial outcomes,” said Nicolas Decuypere, co-founder of Wattloop. “We look forward to exploring how our capabilities can contribute to a more efficient and scalable European market for battery reuse and repurposing.” The agreement does not commit either party to a future commercial transaction or partnership. Any broader cooperation will be subject to further evaluation and separate agreements. About REBATTEX REBATTEX is
building Europe’s missing market infrastructure for circular EV batteries. Its platform enables batteries to be safely and compliantly diagnosed, documented, valued, traded, reused, repurposed and ultimately recycled through trusted data, transaction, traceability and compliance workflows. About Wattloop Wattloop is a Belgian battery technology company focused on supporting the circular use of electric vehicle batteries through battery diagnostics, data and related technical solutions.
