REBATTEX is launching the European EV Battery Index, a new monthly publication providing aggregated data on the supply, demand and asking prices of used EV batteries. Based on activity on the REBATTEX exchange, the Index aims to improve transparency and help more usable batteries find their next application. Across Europe, valuable market information remains fragmented. Dismantlers know what batteries they have available, while workshops, insurers and second-life businesses know what they need. When those signals do not meet, buyers struggle to find suitable batteries and usable packs can

remain in storage or be recycled prematurely. “An individual business may know what is in its own warehouse or what its customers are looking for, but rarely sees the wider market,” says Andy Rietschel, CEO and Co-founder of REBATTEX. “The European EV Battery Index connects those signals and makes them useful. Better visibility can help businesses identify opportunities and give more batteries a chance to find the right next application.” Published monthly, the Index will provide aggregated insights into asking prices, available batteries, battery characteristics and buyer search activity.

Commercially sensitive information is protected, and a s the dataset matures, additional data points and insights will become available in the coming months. The Index reflects activity on the REBATTEX platform and should be viewed as an emerging market indicator rather than a complete measure of the European used EV battery market. “Building a battery exchange is not only about connecting individual buyers and sellers. It is also about helping the market understand itself,” adds Rietschel. “As participation grows, the picture of supply and demand becomes more useful for everyone.” The

European EV Battery Index will be published monthly and made available free of charge. The first September edition is attached to this press release and also available from the REBATTEX website https://rebattex.com/european-battery-index. About REBATTEX REBATTEX is building a European exchange for used EV batteries, connecting sellers and buyers through an infrastructure focused on diagnostics, documentation, traceability and trusted trade. Its mission is to make battery reuse easier and help retain the value of batteries already in circulation. Trace it. Trade it. Trust it.
